I wanted a theme for Lil Blue, to "accessorize" her with some "bling". At first I wanted to do a Hot Wheel theme (because it's hot wheel blue), but eventually went with a pirate theme. I finally had to explain why to Her Majesty because she didn't get it. I said it represents living by your own rules like pirates. We're always "tied down" with responsibilities, and this would be the one thing that means freedom to us (much like motorcycles are to bikers). She gave in.
She picked out tire valve stem covers that were the same blue as the car. I got a license plate frame that's black and chrome, and skull "bolts" to hold it in. The hard part was finding seat covers. We were limited because of the seats' built in airbags, so couldn't restrict them. I finally decided that I could use beach towels and make our own. Finally found a couple I like, I came up with this.
10 bucks per towel, and some small curtain grommets (for the head rest posts), and we have seat covers.
I also want to put the Jolly Roger on the roof. I had to again explain to Her Highness that every time we put the roof up...we could say we were hoisting the colors. Wasn't that serious, but we did find something for the back window that worked.
As you can see, we added "bumper stickers" to the back. I like to show off my veteran status, plus think they help add "personality" to Lil Blue. We didn't want to put actual bumper stickers on it, so we've been using the magnetic kind. That way we can take them off, and put different ones on depending on our mood. Lil Blue's "bling".
