My wife said that I should start a blog, along with a very dear friend of ours Julie, about our travels and experiences with our new love affair, our 2012 Fiat 500 C. I'll start out how we ended up getting one to begin with.
Lori and I had been toying with getting a weekend fun car, a convertible. We looked at the Ford Mustang, and Chevy Camaro, but with our income bracket, would probably have to go used. and I have never had much luck with used cars. Also, I wanted something new, that was only ours. There's a Fiat dealership near us, that we always passed on the highway, so on a whim before we went to dinner, we decided to pay it a visit. Knowing not only did we need a fun car, but had to be practical also. We have a camp about an hour from us, and 2 dogs, one of which is a 215lbs Mastiff. We had to make sure it would work for every aspect of our weekends also. I grabbed a cooler we would be using, for a perspective of trunk space, and off we went.
We were greeted by Dave, the Sales Manager, who...even though he was starting to close up for the night, stayed open so we could take one out for a test drive. Lori and I were instantly in love. I put the cooler in the trunk, and saw it was a lot roomier than outward appearances, and we could get everything we hauled to camp for the weekend in there.
Lori and I couldn't agree on a color we liked (Lil Blue wasn't there yet), and we weren't sure. Dave said we could think about it and give us a chance to talk. I was still concerned about our dog. Then, on Veteran's Day weekend, while Lori was sleeping, I decided to load Rugen (our mastiff) into the SUV and go back to the dealership (or studio as they call themselves). There she was...Lil Blue. Dave greeted me again, and I explained to him that I had to see if Rugen would fit before we decided. He said no problem..and lo and behold..he fit (the whole back seat). Went back home and woke up Her Highness (because she's my queen), told her what I had done, discussed whether it would fit our budget or not, and went back and became the proud owners of a 2012 Fiat 500C (I tried to get a discount because there was dog hair all over the back seat, but Dave didn't fall for it). We've been loving it ever since.
